Vegas for the First Time

Are you heading to the Las Vegas Strip to hit the tables and do some gambling? If so, that’s awesome – you’ll have an experience to remember. But before you head out there, it’s important that you prepare for your gambling experience. Through plenty of preparation, you can give yourself the best possible shot at leaving Las Vegas as a winner – which not everybody can do!

As soon as you’re ready, you can dive straight into the steps detailed below.

Step 1: Practice in an Online Casino

In the modern age of gambling, millions of people are playing in real-money online casinos. Some do it for fun, while others do it to practice and hone their skills before playing in big casinos like Caesar’s Palace.

If you’ve never gambled online before, then it’s recommended you use the best real money online casino in the USA. This will enable you to learn the rules and foundations of all the major casino games, such as blackjack and video poker. The only difference is that you’ll be playing them online using either a smartphone or a PC!

After practicing in an online casino for a couple of days or weeks, you’ll be ready and pumped to hit the tables and machines in Las Vegas.

Step 2: Dress Smart

Some Las Vegas casinos have strict dress codes, while some expect you to dress in a smart-casual outfit. This is something you and your friends should double-check prior to heading there. Essentially, it’s the perfect excuse to wear that suit or dress that you’ve had in your closet for too long!

Step 3: Follow Casino Etiquette

In life, etiquette is important – especially when it comes to casinos.

In any casino, whether it’s in Las Vegas or Paris, players are expected to follow traditional casino etiquette. This involves everything you would expect, from being polite to dealers to not engaging in antisocial behavior. If you were to break any of the casino etiquette rules, then you’d likely be asked to leave the establishment – which you obviously don’t want to happen!

Step 4: Prepare Your Budget

After arriving in Vegas, don’t be reckless and gamble all of your life savings at the blackjack table. Under no circumstances are these types of bets ever a good idea! Instead, you need to be responsible and gamble with a budget.

Each individual is different regarding their gambling budget in Vegas. One person might take $150 with them, while another individual might take $1000 – it’s all down to disposable income.

Upon arriving in Vegas, you might drink a little and be tempted to expand your budget, but this is highly discouraged. You and your friends should always stick to your original budgets and avoid drinking while gambling so that you bet responsibly!

Step 5: Learn the Tricks of the Trade

In the casino industry, there are lots of tricks that you can learn to give yourself an advantage.

Here’s one you need to know: when you’re in a Las Vegas casino, avoid the double-zero roulette wheels. Instead, go with the single-zero wheels, as there’s a higher chance of you winning (whether you bet on red or black).

Which is the Best Las Vegas Sports Team?

October 2, 2022

A Guide to Las Vegas Sports

Las Vegas now has a number of major league sports teams – as well as Division I college and minor league organizations. Read on for a Sin City sports guide
The Raiders made the move from Oakland to Las Vegas in 2020

It wasn’t that long ago that the only professional sports action found in Las Vegas was at the world-renowned sportsbooks. Vegas may be a mecca for people from all around the world but it was slim pickings as far as major league sports were concerned.

But that has changed dramatically in the last few years as Vegas has become home to a number of teams across the big sports – adding to the minor league teams and the Rebels of UNLV, of course. The best online sportsbook betting markets all now feature hometown teams. So here is a guide to sports in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Raiders, NFL

One of the biggest names in football, the Raiders finally ended a return trip between Oakland and Los Angeles to set up a new home in Las Vegas in 2020. There had been other outdoor football teams in the city in the past. But the NFL is the biggest show in town – and the Raiders are a marquee team.

The franchise may have had some successful seasons in the past but there hadn’t been too much to cheer about in Oakland for a while. The first season in Vegas ended 8-8, but the team went to the playoffs last year. A loss to the Bengals finished that journey but there are high hopes for the black and silver.

Vegas Golden Knights, NHL

The Golden Knights became the first ever major league professional team in Las Vegas when it joined the NHL as an expansion team in 2017. Locals soon became firm fans of the new team and cheered it on all the way to a Conference championship before it lost to the Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup finals.

Last year was the first time ever in five attempts that the Vegas Golden Knights failed to make the postseason and there is real hope that there will be a speedy return. There is a new head coach in the form of Bruce Cassidy, who has been at the Boston Bruins most recently, and he will expect excellence on the ice.

Las Vegas Aces, WNBA

The Aces started life in Utah and moved to San Antonio before becoming a Las Vegas sports team. Now it has written its name in history by becoming the first team from the city to win a professional sports championship. The Aces recently beat Connecticut in four games to claim the title.

The franchise had lost in the WBNA Finals twice before, once as a Las Vegas team, so the celebrations were as to be expected. The Aces had been the best team in the league all season and capped off a glorious campaign with victory. Now it will aim to become the first to win back-to-back championships since the LA Sparks over 20 years ago.

Minor League Teams and College Sports

As with the major league sports teams, many of the minor league organizations have only called Las Vegas home for a few years. One of the few exceptions is the Las Vegas Aviators, a Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. Minor league baseball has been played in the city since 1983.

There are other minor league teams playing soccer, hockey and basketball in the city. But it was the Rebels that Las Vegas was known for previously. The football and basketball teams have been very successful, with the Runnin’ Rebels (as the hoops team is known) winning the National Championship in 1991.

Expansion Rumors

With the success of the Raiders and the Golden Knights, it is no surprise that other leagues are interested in bringing a franchise to Las Vegas. Both MLB and the NBA have future plans, with the Oakland Athletics potentially closest to switching to the city – just like the Raiders did a few years ago.

The possibility of a Major League Soccer expansion team now looks to be further off, though, after a slew of new teams joined the league in the last few years. But Vegas will always be an attractive offer – and it would not be a huge surprise if the list of major league sports teams got a little bit longer soon.

While not hiking around the park, you may go on a boat excursion to see whales that frequent the area around Mount Desert Island in the summer.

The City of Angels, Los

Southern California is home to its distinct culture, and Los Angeles serves as its cultural hub. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Bel Air are iconic areas that have contributed much to Los Angeles’ reputation as a glamorous destination.

Follow that up with a photo op in front of the “Bean” sculpture in Millennium Park, a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago’s world-class collections, or a boat down the Chicago River highlighting the city’s architectural marvels. Bring your winter coat and gloves and go to Maggie Daley Park if you plan a trip in the colder months.

Key West

Key West, Florida, is the southernmost point of the United States and has all the amenities one would expect from a Florida Keys Island. Relaxing on the beach, deep-sea fishing, and water sports like snorkeling, kayaking, and sailing are among the most well-liked pastimes.

Despite its stunning beach, Key West has much more to offer. There is a wealth of historic parks, mansions, and cemeteries for those interested in learning about the region’s past. Duval Street in Key West is full of exciting characters and a wide variety of eateries and watering holes.

Telluride

People go to this Colorado mountain village all seasons. Powder hunters may rip down the Rocky Mountains in the winter and warm up in Telluride’s excellent après-ski culture. But conversely, the summer months are ripe with the opportunity to take in breathtaking scenery via scenic byways and hiking trails.

Eat at one of Telluride’s many restaurants, whether you’re craving fine dining or hearty mountain cooking, after a day of exploring the area.

Now one of the most famous American cities for eating out, Houston has earned a reputation for serving some of the country’s most OK food.

San Antonio

Many people’s first thoughts of Texas are of Dallas and Houston, yet locals will tell you that San Antonio is their favorite city. Many attractions, including the stunning Riverwalk and The Alamo, contribute to the city’s popularity.

Phoenix

Phoenix is a massive, expansive metropolis in the center of the Southwest United States, and it sees a considerable influx of people from the North during the winter months. Phoenix is hard to beat for a fun vacation full of golf, shopping, and relaxation.

Orlando

The Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld theme parks are the primary draws of Orlando, Florida, sometimes known as Kissimmee. It ranks high as a top destination for American family vacations. The results are fantastic with the little ones.

Of course, the parks are geared toward families, but grown-ups will also have a great time there, thanks to the abundance of entertainment options.

The National Parks in Utah

Canyons, arches, natural amphitheaters, and otherworldly rock formations provide southern Utah with a landscape that is unlike any other. But, as luck would have it, some of Utah’s most breathtaking landscapes may be found inside the state’s parks.

You can choose any of these places and start a new life. These cities are full of career opportunities, education options, and a great environment to raise your family or live a peaceful life.

The Most Exciting Things to Do in Las Vegas Away From the Gaming Floor

When you think of Las Vegas, you think of casinos. It’s no wonder, as the city practically invented the modern integrated resort with its towering hotels, giant gaming floors, and an assortment of amenities like shops, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs But the city no longer holds a monopoly over casino gaming since players can now go online to enjoy their favorite games and even take advantage of the myriad of online casino bonuses offered by leading operators right across the United States to get deals to rival anything they’d find on the strip.

But, despite being able to play slots on a smartphone, millions of visitors still pass through Vegas’ airports and arterial roads, all looking for exciting entertainment.

Of course, while many still prefer the land-based casino experience and enjoy having a flutter with the feel of felt under their arms, even more visitors arrive to the city looking for other things to do.

Over the years Las Vegas has developed a very broad offering, including boutique shopping, world-class golf courses, and even gondola rides.

While fun and interesting, none of these activities quite offer the white-knuckle excitement that many visitors to the strip after looking for. These guests don’t go home disappointed though as Nevada’s most famous city has plenty of things to do that’ll get your heart racing.

Roller Coasters

Roller coasters are usually the domain of theme parks. They can cost millions to design and build and cost a small fortune to run, but as a testament to the volume of guests that Las Vegas is able to attract, several casinos have proven it’s possible to make operating these white-knuckle attractions commercially viable.

In the mid-1990s, Primm, a small city on the outskirts of Las Vegas where Nevada and California meet became home to the world’s tallest and fastest coaster. Known as Desperado, this hyper-coaster dropped riders 225ft and got them to a top speed of 80 mph.

Sadly, Desperado currently runs sporadically, but it still stands around the Buffalo Bill’s Hotel and Casino.

In Las Vegas proper, there are still plenty of coaters that operate regularly. This includes the Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York which sees riders hurtle along in cars styled like yellow Manhattan cabs, reaching speeds of 67 mph and navigating a full loop and a heartline twist.

That’s still not all, the Adventuredome offers visitors several adrenaline-inducing rides, including the Canyon Blaster, El Loco roller coaster and the Chaos tilt-a-whirl. Meanwhile, visitors to the top of The Strat can get their blood flowing with the unique Big Shot, Insanity, and X Scream rides.

Driving Experiences

Las Vegas offers one of the world’s most diverse selections of combustion-powered activities. In addition to the dense calendar of racing that you’ll find at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, including several NASCAR events, there are plenty of opportunities to get behind the wheel yourself.

At the track, there are several driving experiences on offer, including the chance to feel the power of a real NASCAR race car.

That’s not all though. If you prefer going off-road, ATV quad bikes and buggies are available for hire for you to blast through the red Nevadan desert dust. This is also a great opportunity to explore the areas away from the city and appreciate the engineering marvel required to build a major city in such a hostile environment.

Other options include bulldozer driving, the Shelby American Museum, and supercar rentals to make you look like the highest of high rollers.

Sports

Throughout most of its modern history, Las Vegas has played host to a smorgasbord of sports, including boxing, hockey, and football.

No matter what time of year you visit, you’ll almost certainly find a major sporting event taking place. Throughout the NFL season, you can catch Raiders games at Allegiant Stadium, while the Golden Knights play regularly at the T-Mobile Arena through the NHL’s regular season.

Then there are the one-off and annual events, such as the upcoming Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and a regular schedule of boxing and UFC matches.

No matter what games you watch, you can be sure you’ll be right on the edge of your seat in Vegas.

The fame of Las Vegas goes far and wide around the world. It’s not easy to find a person that does not know what the City of Sin is well-known for. Casinos, great fun, money, and blinding lights. Las Vegas has been famous for decades, and every month, thousands of people enjoy its atmosphere. Have you ever wondered what the future has in store for the city? Let’s try to find out.

Is there a competition for Sin City?

If there is anything no other city in the world has it is this atmosphere of ever-present thrill and adrenaline in the air. Las Vegas is the place where all the best casinos in the world offer their games and win to everyone. People can pick and choose, if not these games then some other, if not these themes then there are ten different casinos on the same street. Las Vegas is the place where people come to blow off some steam and have fun. Can anything replace this unique experience of Las Vegas casinos? It would seem that not really, but unfortunately, we’ve stepped into the era of technological development, where everything is available online. Even casinos. Online casinos can provide players from all over the world with the same experience and opportunity to win real money as traditional casinos. They are even offering some attractive options, such as one of the latest casino bonuses from the best operators listed by Vegas Slots Online, a platform that allows users to multiply their earnings through these bonuses and improve their online gaming experience by providing players with game guides and FAQs. Due to the fact that this kind of gaming does not necessitate visiting Sin City, it poses a threat to Las Vegas.

The city’s economy

One of the aspects that often reflect a city’s economic status is the number of new constructions and how the whole place is developing. In the case of Las Vegas, the numbers seem promising. Even during the pandemic, when the main source of income for the city was drying out, new investments took place. The last two years brought some exciting developments in Las Vegas, such as the Vegas Loop Tunnel, MSG Sphere, and Resorts World. It’s fair to assume that more of such new investments will be appearing all around the city, bringing it new sources of profit and chances for further development. Some forecasts predict that the population of Las Vegas will keep growing to reach the number of 4 million in the year 2055.

The city’s climate future

The city’s climate might turn out to be a challenge, as the last years brought new records for high temperatures, reaching around 116F in June. In Las Vegas and its suburbs, such temperatures are challenging as during the day all concrete elements in the city absorb sun and radiate heat long into the night. The leaders of the city are working hard to create realistic and effective sustainability goals and plans, as the temperatures will keep rising. We only need to hope that we will manage to minimize the risks of turning the city into an uninhabited desert.

The future of entertainment

Las Vegas will certainly not stop being the most important stop on the map of the world’s best entertainment. It’s what this city is known for, and not only in the field of gambling and casinos. The City of Sin has much to offer everyone, and it will keep offering even more. The city will develop in many fields, including sports. For some time, Las Vegas was a city with no professional sports team, but the last years have brought a change in this matter. In the upcoming years, the number of teams will probably grow, as there is a chance that this new area might bring additional profits to the city with new people, and sports fans, being interested in visiting.

Besides sports, Las Vegas offers various shows and theaters for all tastes and interests. This city is the perfect place to lose yourself and immerse in pure fun, and will all possibility, in the future, there will be even more to choose from. On this basis alone, it’s fair to assume that the future of the whole city is as bright as its streets, and it did not say the last word in entertainment yet.

Choosing the Ideal Pet-Friendly Rental in Vegas

May 30, 2022
Dogs in the Las vegas backyard

If you’re looking for a Vegas rental that accepts pets, there are some considerations that you should make. Firstly, make sure you’re not going to be stranded if you have a large dog! Even though Las Vegas is not a big city, you might find it difficult to find pet-friendly accommodations. If that’s the case, read on to discover how to choose the ideal pet-friendly rental in Vegas.

Apartments with extra features

If you’re looking for Vegas pet friendly rentals that allow pets, look no further than one of the many pet-friendly properties in the city. These properties offer convenient features for the whole family, including fireplaces and spacious living areas. Other amenities include fully-equipped kitchens, spacious bathrooms, and ample storage. You can even take your pet along with you if you have one. In addition to being pet-friendly, these properties are also great for families with children.

Finding an apartment for rent that is pet-friendly is the key to peace of mind and convenience, so make sure to thoroughly review the layout of the unit. Look for pet-friendly policies, such as a pet deposit or breed restriction. Additionally, consider the flooring – is it carpeted or hardwood? Hardwood floors are often easier to clean than carpets but may be noisy. Some apartments even have outdoor balconies, which are ideal for pets!

Higher rent

When choosing an apartment to rent in Vegas with a pet, consider a few important factors before making a decision. Pet-friendly apartments typically have higher rent, and some of these apartments require a higher pet deposit. Before making a final decision on a pet-friendly rental, take some time to review the apartment’s layout. Consider the type of flooring, for example. Wood floors are easier to keep clean, while carpeting can be noisy. Pet-friendly apartments may have outdoor balconies, which are ideal for dogs.

If you’d like to bring a pet to Las Vegas, make sure you know the size and breed of your animal. Some apartment buildings have strict rules, like not allowing pit bulls. Others may have a weight limit on dogs. Emotional support animals or service animals have different rules than other pets. While you’re searching for a pet-friendly rental in Las Vegas, be sure to consider the lifestyle of the apartment before making a decision. If you move frequently, avoid bringing a pet with you. It can cause heartache in the long run.

Pet deposit

Whether you’re traveling with a small dog or a large cat, there are a few things to consider when choosing a pet-friendly rental in Las Vegas. These apartments should be easy to maintain and provide peace of mind for you and your pet. Before booking your rental, however, you should carefully examine its layout and amenities. Some apartments require a pet deposit, while others are more accommodating of certain dog breeds. Also, consider the flooring type. Hardwood floors are easier to clean, while carpeted floors can be noisy. Outdoor balconies are also great for pets.

Depending on your pet’s size and breed, cabins may not be a good choice for families with small dogs or cats. Cabins often provide more space than larger homes and are often equipped with impressive amenities. Many pet-friendly cabins have swimming pools and hot tubs and yards around them. Some even offer to fence so your pet can stay safely in the yard. Whatever your choice, be prepared to pay a pet fee and security deposit.
