Sin and Save: Visiting Vegas on a Budget

February 28, 2018

If you’re planning on paying a trip to Las Vegas, you don’t need to be a high roller to enjoy yourself and get into the spirit of Sin City. If you arm yourself with some useful tips on how to get the best deals, you can enjoy a lavish visit to Vegas at a reasonable cost. Here are some of the best tips for a trip to Vegas that can save you a pretty penny without sparing the luxury.

Watch your timing

Firstly, avoid visiting Vegas at any time there’s a citywide convention taking place. Hotel rates are higher, which limits your options when it comes to booking the right room for you. The Las Vegas Tourism website, features a calendar of conventions to give you advance notice. Generally, rates are at their lowest in July and August, as the crowds tend to be deterred by the hot weather. Rates also fall after Thanksgiving right through early January.

Keep food costs low

Dinner at one of the city’s famous eateries can set you back $150 or more. If you’re dining alone, visit during lunchtime when you can expect more reasonable prices. Further, some restaurants offer a happy hour with 50% off appetisers. You could also visit some of the more popular venues early in the day, when food is often the least costly; yet at the same time, delicious and freshly prepared.

Drink at a discount (or free)

If you plan on gambling at the casinos, you can expect free drinks. The casinos serve up free drinks to gamblers, even at the penny slots. The Cosmopolitan and the Wynn provide the best in free drinks. But even non-gamblers can find up to 50% discounts at happy hours at bars and eateries all over Vegas, many located inside the most popular resorts in the city.

Enjoy the luxury you’ve already paid for

Don’t forget that you can, on occasion, enjoy the luxury of the hotel room you paid for. While taking advantage of room service, you could unwind (and, at the same time, save a few pounds) by catching up on your favourite shows or enjoying other online entertainment. There are plenty of free games online, for example, such as Miner Jump and Zombie Survival. There are no shortage of slot games online, either, which, unlike those in the casino downstairs, offer numerous bonuses. Bonus.ca features many a link to online casinos that accept Bitcoin as a valid payment method; and all with bonuses, to boot. Bitcoin is a form of payment that is becoming more popular in Vegas, with such outlets as Amusespot and Elite Visual Audio all accepting the virtual currency.

Save on entertainment

Buying a ticket for one of the city’s popular shows could set you back a small fortune. If you don’t mind making last minute plans, however, you can try Tix4Tonight, which lists deals on shows for that day. The website updates daily, and you could find such discounts as 50% off a ticket to see famous illusionist, David Copperfield. Try avoiding the most in-demand and newest shows, however, as they have a tendency to be priced higher than others, and have less seating options for groups.

If you use just some of these tips, you’re guaranteed to enjoy the trip of a lifetime without returning home with a hole in your wallet.

Undead in Las Vegas: Zombie Activities and Attractions

February 8, 2018

Zombie Activities and AttractionsWhen you think of Las Vegas, you think of glitz and glamour – you think of somewhere high rollers and celebrities flock to for a weekend of indulgence and excitement. You don’t normally think of flesh-eating zombies. But the ties between the living dead and living it large actually run fairly deep. There’s a whole host of zombie themed activities in Las Vegas, and the ties between the city of lights and zombies continue into popular culture. Let’s explore!

Adventure Combat Ops

There are a fair few zombie themed activities in Las Vegas, including the Adventure Combat Ops, which allows players to dress up as special ops and form the last line of defense against a marauding zombie army. The simulation recreates a post-apocalyptic city and advertises itself as a completely immersive experience. Players are transported into a world of the near future, where zombies have wiped out most of civilisation. The game also serves as a life lesson as to how the special ops might operate, with state of the art equipment used and information provided on tactical manoeuvres. Not only that, for those who are bitten by the zombies, shallow graves are promised off the beaten path in the desert – they’re kidding of course, but that only amps up the excitement.

The Zombie Vegas Connection

In fact, the tradition of zombies and Vegas isn’t a new one. The sandbox zombie game developed by Blue Castle Games, Dead Rising 2 is set in Las Vegas. Protagonist Chuck becomes stuck in a series of malls that make up the entertainment complex in the 2010 Xbox 360 game, and his trips to various casinos are an integral part of collecting anti-zombie medication and defeating villains. Moreover, the Betway Lost Vegas online slot carries on the tradition, with the slots themed around an outbreak taking place in Vegas. Even films have capitalised on the juxtaposition of the city of Las Vegas and the zombie outbreak, with the 2016 film It Stains the Sand Red, distributed by Dark Sky Films, focusing on a zombie apocalypse occurring in the desert around Vegas. The film received a 58% score on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

Fear the Walking Dead

The AMC sponsored Fear the Walking Dead Survival Attraction, which is part of the Vegas Experience also allows aspiring zombie slayers out into a post-apocalyptic zombie world. This time, as part of a multisensory experience, players are locked in an escape room as a 4D “thrill attraction”. The game then opens up to be both part of a maze, and part of an interactive video game experience. The attraction takes the immersive and scary aspects of the AMC show and combines them with a skills based multiplayer game and a live skills based game. The attraction takes the core theme of escaping zombies in the near future and uses both physical and digital means to create an atmospheric experience.

Escape or Die

Escape room game Escape or Die also continues the theme, with even signing up to the marketing and connecting on social media embracing the post-apocalyptic theme. Located just off the illustrious and renowned Las Vegas Strip, the game features three levels of scariness and difficulty: The Next Civilisation, Zombie Takeover, and Biohazard. Each adventure lasts one hour and tickets range between $35-$40, with regular sales promotions offering $10 off, allowing the zombie apocalypse to be avoided at a reduced rate.

Zombie Burlesque

For something slightly different, yet in keeping with the zombies in Vegas theme, Zombie Burlesque offers the immersive zombie experience but without the fear factor that the other events and activities promise. The comedy musical, from the brains of the people who created Vegas! The Show, crosses zombies with the circus, with traditional burlesque for an entertaining show. Vegas is known for its high energy performances and Zombie Burlesque allows zombie fans to indulge in the living dead without having to leave their seats.

Las Vegas is a city of many talents, from hosting world class performers with Vegas residencies, to attracting clientele from across the world to sample the lifestyle that the city has to offer. The zombie connection is just another layer in the multi-faceted city of Las Vegas. With so many ways to indulge your passion for zombies in Vegas, it really is the perfect weekend destination.

Horse Racing Betting Tips

January 15, 2018

race-trackOftentimes, the horse racing is seen just through the glasses of the betting scene. The fact is the horse racing rises above betting. The display and excellence of watching competitors on the steeds has no rivals. Incredible creatures – horses – love running and are reproduced to run quickly. Before anybody takes to betting, they will ideally set aside the opportunity to acknowledge what they are encountering from a visual viewpoint.

All things considered, horse racing exists since human beings love to bet on the horses. It’s a an engagement of technique, examination and figuring out how to deal with one’s assets keeping in mind the end goal to amplify benefits. That is the thing that the amusement intends to the genuine horseplayer. At the opposite end of the range is the beginner horseplayer who basically appreciates setting off to the races, taking in the air and tossing down a couple of dollars for a shot cheer and gain a couple of dollars consequently.

Here are a couple of free advices for all.

  • Don’t buy information at new online casino and betting shops. The betting industry is brimming with tipsters who are more than willing to share their picks for a charge. The demonstration of paying that charge guarantees the purchaser they will be a washout before the races even begin.
  • Learn to deal with form guide. There is something exceptionally energizing and satisfying about unraveling measurable data and attempting to disengage a victor from a full field of stallions. It’s requires investment and cash to figure out how to utilize the Form Guide, however it’s opportunity and cash well spent, particularly when the champs begin coming a pleasant chances.
  • Don’t get involved in each race. Everyone has a constrained bankroll. Rather than attempting to spread that bankroll over an expansive determination of races, the punter should concentrate on distinguishing the races that have a stallion that appears to have the most obvious opportunity to win at the most noteworthy conceivable chances and making bigger bets on those races.
  • Listen to tips of betting experts at best live casino. If you don’t bet at the track face to face. You should realize that most online sports books and dashing productions have an occupant autonomous master (handicapper), who is paid to give free “hustling tips today” for the advantage of its clients. While it’s not prescribed to wager indiscriminately on each of the master’s picks, they can be utilized to help seclude steeds that have a sensible possibility of winning.
  • Don’t bet only on favorites. Statistically, top choices win around 34% of the time. When they do win, the chances will be short, intermittently sufficiently low to be viewed as an underlay. Reliably wagering top picks is a losing recommendation.
  • Care of betting value. Punters (bettor or gambler) can win considerably by horse betting that are overlaid. Look at this example: There dependably is by all accounts a steed or two sitting at chances of between 4-1 and 7-1, which appears to be high in connection to the stallion’s morning line chances and current shape. On the off chance that a steed resembles a genuine contender whose chances are higher than it ought to be, that may be an overlaid horse worth wagering.
  • Serious betting versus leisure betting. Serious punters should concentrate individually races and searching for champs with 75% of their bankroll set on win bets and the other 25% going towards lucrative outlandish bets. Then again, recreational punters should search with the expectation of complimentary steed dashing tips, complete a bit of disabling and go for the energy by betting 75% of their bankroll on lucrative exotics and the other 25% on win/put bets.

Tips For Enjoying The Most Popular Slot Games In Vegas

January 11, 2018
Slot Machine

Slot Machine

Let’s cut straight to the chase – Vegas is home to hundreds of thousands of slots games. Sure there’s plenty of replicas, duplicates, and all time classics, but casinos are very shy of releasing any figures which are their most popular games. For a casual player, it could be casually dropping a buck into a seven-figure jackpot. For others, it will be those who look for the tightest odds possible for low stakes and long play. That being said, there is a trend for dedicated players to seek out Vegas’ most popular slot games. But where are they? Without giving away too many secrets – this guide will point you in the right direction.

Rule 1) Pick Your Venue Wisely

All houses have their own rules – and by no means are they ever equal. Only a few years ago it was estimated that payouts along the Vegas strip would average at about 75%, whereas the smaller time operations would hit close to 95-98%. That’s not quite the case nowadays, and as any gambler will notice every slot on the strip has a certifiable accreditation on what the chances are of a return.

This is the case from anything between fantasy sports/racing and video poker. So many players just go by instinct instead of checking out the small print. The difference can be truly amazing, especially for a smart slots player who maintains a close eye on their profit/loss ratios.

Rule 2) Ask The Locals

Anyone staying on the Strip will be told by their bartender/concierge/lobby boy that their casino has the best odds in town. That isn’t often the case. The best way to find out about which slots are programmed to be generous is to politely – and casually – ask the staff of an independent place. Word gets around fast and casinos do operate to pay out in order to attract more custom.

The Riviera, Luxor, and Mandalay tend to operate along these lines. It’s mostly anecdotal but a casino without the occasional big winner is going to empty fast.

Rule 3) Play What You Know

Couldn’t find a decent/reliable tip? Never mind, let’s get down to the gaming. The lowest payout percentage any serious slots player ought to accept is 95%. You could get higher than that on the Blackjack tables, but as we all well know – that’s a risky and expensive option!

Don’t get fooled by the occasional machine offering enormous jackpots – even if you win that’ll be less than 10% of what has been paid in (often well into seven figures). The worst rookie mistake is to fling a few bucks at the slots in McCarran. Just don’t!

However, regular players who are comfortable and ready for a long session will find that Vegas has all of your favorite slots. Classics sit comfortably next to more modern, glitzy machines. Before being tempted – check those odds! Typically the more gentrified models will be much kinder on the wallet/purse.

Rule 4) Keep Up To Date

Everyone loves a little virtual racing or three wheel spins, but don’t forget that many Vegas casinos will be offering cutting edge new releases. Most of their custom will nowadays come from home players via smartphone/laptop/PC but a couple of public big wins tends to help their marketing a huge amount. If you choose to take a punt – remember that to qualify for the huge jackpots there’s often a minimum stake ($5-10 typically).

The thing about Vegas that everyone ought to remember is that it’s not wholly about the casinos trying to take your cash. Time it right and play along and you never know what can happen. Anyone can just enjoy a session on the penny slots or instead chance more on the big reels. Best of luck, either way, Las Vegas is a heck of a town!
