Cruising down Las Vegas Blvd. “The Strip” – Welcome To Las Vegas Sign

Take a cruise down the famous Las Vegas Blvd. also know as “The Strip.” The Strip begins before the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, all the way down to just before the Stratosphere.

Here is an interesting fact, “The Strip” refers to the stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard that is roughly between Sahara Avenue and Russell Road, with a distance of 4.2 miles, and is technically not in the city of Las Vegas, but in the county of Clark along with most of the hotels & resorts. In 1959 the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign was constructed exactly 4.5 miles outside of the city limits. The sign is today about 0.4 miles south of the southernmost entrance to Mandalay Bay (the southernmost casino).

The video was shot on a GoPro and mounted on an Audi TT.

The Gambling Lifestyle in Las Vegas

July 1, 2017

Winning in Las VegasEach city has its own allure achieved by unique traits, historical background or just welcoming locals. For Las Vegas, specifically, there is a bit more than that. The lifestyle in Vegas is often described by stating that it is both everything and nothing that meets the eye.

In order to understand life in Las Vegas, people need to realize that there is much more than just the gambling industry. Although this is the driving force which has kept this city alive during the sweltering summer heat and constant movement, people in Vegas are able to experience much more. Locals are able to witness concerts, shows and performances of the greatest world-famous stars in show business without travelling to a distant city.
Not too far from the neon lights, people are also able to experience quite a number of outdoor activities. The Vegas valley is enclosed by mountains and rough terrain, allowing visitors and locals to explore various extreme sports.

Yet, the majority of people who visit Vegas are inclined towards gambling. The gambling lifestyle as seen in movies and on TV mainly aims to attract as many gamblers as possible, which is why it is often portrayed as a luxurious, easy-money, care-free way of life. After all, Vegas has been facing some serious threats of extinction. NetBet and similar popular online casinos rapidly replaced the land-based lobbies of entire resorts filled with tables and slot machines.

Still, there are a few characteristics of the gambling lifestyle in Las Vegas which make the experience exciting and irreplaceable.

Time Stands Still in Las Vegas
This characteristic of the gambling lifestyle in Las Vegas is one of the many tactics employed by hotel and resort managers in an attempt to keep players on the casino floor. They tend to provide a full-service experience and a place to eat, drink, sleep, party or even shop within their establishment in order to prevent players from leaving. Thus, gamblers often get carried away and end up spending too many sleepless nights in the lobby without any idea of the actual time.

Gambling Is Also a Profession
Although this could also be true for any other town where gambling is legal and regulated, Las Vegas does offer greater variety when it comes to developing your gambling skills. Previous generations have already set the basics for the industry, leaving youngsters with a done product which simply needs some refurbishing now and then.

In order to enjoy your stay in Vegas, you need to understand that this is not an easy way to make a living. Despite stereotypical beliefs, there is only a very small portion of gamblers who actually accumulate all their income from gambling and can sustain themselves and their family.

Gambling Etiquette
Just like any other official business, gambling in Las Vegas casinos is done under certain unwritten rules. Small things like asking whether the chair is free or not, or simply learning the rules of the game before placing your bet and throwing a fit for losing your money often mean a lot to the typical Las Vegas gambler.

Where to Meet People in Las Vegas That Aren’t Obvious

June 22, 2017
The Peppermill on Las Vegas Blvd.

The Peppermill on Las Vegas Blvd.

Most people think of Las Vegas and all of the debauchery that goes down in what they refer to as “Sin City.”  Sure, there is no shortage of bars, strip clubs, and casinos of all sorts that allow people to find other inebriated souls who are looking for a good time.

But what about the people who are into relationships and meeting people that aren’t just casual encounters?  Where can you meet real people and strike up meaningful conversation that may lead to more?  Does that actually happen in Las Vegas?

According to this article, it does.   Reading that article prompted an Internet search to see just what the locals and experts do to accomplish the goal of having a social life that isn’t just about partying.  Today we’ll break down the places that aren’t obvious to the general public in order to shed a positive light on the Las Vegas dating and social scene.

Here are Five Places You Probably Didn’t Think Of

#5:  Bond Bar
Located in the Cosmopolitan, this may seem quite commercial and like a tourist trap.  However, you’ll meet all types of people in this sheik lounge featuring go-go dancers (obviously locals), good looking bartenders and cocktail waitresses,  and vibrant music.  Located by the entrance off Las Vegas BLVD, you can easily access this bar.

#4:  Chandelier Bar
As long as you are here in the Cosmo, check out this local favorite that also attracts a lot of tourism.  Gorgeous women line this establishment for it’s décor and classy atmosphere.  Drinks are eclectic, just like the atmosphere.

#3:  The Pepper Mill
Think Denny’s with a vibrant crowd after hours.  There are men, women, old people, and young bucks alike, all gathering their thoughts or re-grouping after a long night on the strip, or some of them perhaps just starting out their day.  Sit by the fire on the left hand side,  and allow the people watching to carry your experience.  You’ll meet many locals here, especially service industry people who just got off of work who are looking to wind down.  Strippers love it, so why wouldn’t you?

#2:  Minus 5 Ice Bar at Mandalay Bay
Ice bars don’t usually lend themselves to being singles scenes, but let’s think about how adventurous people are who frequent them.  Not to mention, the ease of opening up a conversation with something basic like “are you cold?”

#1:  B Bar at Wynn Casino
This bar has eclectic cocktails and a serious crowd due to the size of the casino and location right at the entrance to the gaming floor.  Many people come through for a quick drink, which can lead to many interesting situations.  The best time is after midnight.
